Gang Su
Deputy Director, Kavli Institute for Theoretical Sciences
Gang Su, Deputy Director of Kavli Institute for Theoretical Sciences at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), and former Vice-President of UCAS. Professor Su received his Ph.D. degree in Lanzhou University, China. In 1993-99, he worked first as a CEEC research fellow at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA, then as an Alexander von Humboldt research fellow at Köln University, Germany, and as a JSPS research fellow at Tokyo University of Science, Japan. He is now a distinguished professor in physics at UCAS. His research interests include theoretical condensed matter physics, statistical physics, and materials physics. He has more than 230 publications. His research projects have been funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He received aseveral honors including China National Natural Sciences Award, China MOE Natural Sciences Award, and CAIA Award.
