Aggie McMahon

Aggie McMahon is a program specialist in the life sciences division, supporting the neuroscience portfolio. Aggie joined The Kavli Foundation in 2018 as a science program fellow and served as program director for the International Brain Initiative.

Prior to joining the foundation, Aggie was the program manager for the ENIGMA Consortium with Dr. Paul Thompson at the University of Southern California. ENIGMA is an innovative, worldwide collaboration in neuroimaging and genomics which leverages archival data by distributing openly available analysis protocols.

Aggie began her career with a post-baccalaureate fellowship at the Duke-UNC Brain Imaging and Analysis Center under Dr. Aysenil Belger. She then earned her Master of Science degree at the University of Colorado Clinical and Translational Science Institute in 2015 with Dr. Joseph Sakai and Dr. Thomas Crowley. Her thesis focused on structural covariance of grey matter volume in clinical adolescent populations.

Aggie is an east-coast transplant who received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is particularly passionate about incentivizing team science, data harmonization and dissemination, and broadening progressive science practices.
